Additional information

How does it work

The Laundry Egg contains scientifically formulated, patented cleaning pellets and it is these pellets that are the secret to the Laundry Egg’s amazing cleaning power. The egg contains two types of cleaning pellets: Dark coloured tourmaline pellets – these weaken the adhesive forces between the dirt and fabric White mineral pellets – these naturally ionize the oxygen molecules in the water which then penetrate deep into the fabric lifting away the dirt and grime, without fading colours or damaging the fibres. Scientific testing shows that these two types of pellets used together give the best cleaning results. The ionized oxygen molecules also increase the pH level of the water, which has a natural softening effect on your laundry, so you do not need to use additional fabric softener or conditioner.

How to use

Using the Laundry Egg is easy. Just simply place it into drum of your washing machine along with your laundry – no other liquids or powders are required. Temperature: The Laundry Egg will work at temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius. However it is just as effective at 30 or 40 degrees, if desired. The Laundry Egg also does not leave any residue as with powdered detergent, therefore there is no need for a rinse cycle. This can save you time, energy and even more money with every wash. Softener: The Ecoegg will naturally soften fibres even in hard water, so no fabric softener is required. However we know that some of you love your clothes extra soft, therefore fabric softener can be used in conjunction with your Laundry Egg if desired.

We have been using the Spring blossom eco egg for couple of months and the result is good. My merino top felt soft after the wash and I love the smell.

I LOOOOOVEEEE the ecoegg. So easy to use. My kids are ezcema prone, so this really helps. What I really like is I dont have to buy detergent every month at the supermarket (it saves energy and time) and furthermore my clothes are really clean. I like it that Im not contributing further carbon footprint into the environment. I bought the fragrance free because Im allergic to the perfume coming from detergent, so it helps with less sneezing.

    Thank you ecoegg!!

I adore using the Eco-egg. It is so simple to use, and saves us money. My biggest concern when first getting one that it wouldn’t get rid of the ‘boy/man’ smells as I have adult sons and a husband to wash for who do physical jobs. But this wasn’t a problem. So it was great for our child with special medical problems right up to the adults with ‘real’ jobs! Feel free to buy with confidence, knowing that you are getting a great product.

I first saw this product advertised on Facebook, in an online competition, I was lucky enough to win a full Laundry Pack containing one of each of the products in the Ecoegg range. I’m very interested in new products that are great for the environment and our skin. I absolutely loved the concept of this product, not only just for the savings you get on washing power but the knowledge that you are not putting harsh chemicals into your washing which in this day in age is not only great for our clothes, environment but for our pockets as well. The Ecoegg has been exceptionally great for my sons sensitive skin, as normal washing power seems to make his eczema flare up, and now that I have a new-born baby I am even more conscious as to what laundry products I use. I used the Spring Blossom Egg and this has a very subtle fragrance not at all overpowering like most of the other products out there, however if you don’t want an egg that contains fragrance you do have a Fragrance Free Egg option. I would recommend this product to any of my friends and family who are after a great environmentally friendly, cost effective product.

Simply love the eco egg. Not needing to worry about buying washing powder or how much to put in the machine. The whole family can do the washing now it’s just that simple. Not to mention has done wonders for my skin. No more itchiness. Would recommend to everyone.

I was really keen on the idea of the Ecoegg as i wanted to use less chemicals for the sake of my familie’s skin as well as the environment. I am however a bit dissapointed to find that it doesn’t seem to wash the clothes as well as I had hoped and they seem to just smell wet after a wash rather than like spring blossom. It seems after reading the instruction manual, I needed to purchase two eggs for the size of my machine, but this wasn’t clear when I ordered. I find I need to add fabric softened to get a clean smell.

Hi Liz, I’m sorry that you did not find the Ecoegg satisfactory. However, there could be a number of reasons for this. We have stated under the FAQ –
“My Ecoegg laundry egg/washing machine/clothes smell strange?”
When you have been using conventional washing powder or liquid for a while, the residue left from these can build up in the pipes and crevices of the washing machine. If not cleaned away, these build-ups can cause a bad odour. Your usual detergent will mask the smells from these build-ups. However, when you switch to using the Ecoegg laundry egg, there is no strong fragrance to mask the smells, so it can be more noticeable. In this case, you should clean out your washing machine (which is a good ‘detox’ for your machine anyway).

You can purchase our 6 washing machine ‘detox tablets’ available in our online shop. Or you can purchase the detox tablets when you buy any of our starter bundles.

How to use: Simply unwrap ONE detox tablet and place it in the dispensing drawer of your washing machine and put the machine on the hottest, longest setting available (leave the drum empty – do not put any clothes in). This will leave your machine fresh and clean. It is recommended to detox your machine once every 6 months or so, depending on how often you wash.
